Culinary & Medicinal Herbs Workshop
About the Event
Late summers at Hamilton House were spent busily harvesting and drying crops for later use. Join historian and herbalist, Morrie Shafer, for a hands-on class examining all things herbal. Using herbs that would have been grown at Hamilton House during the 19th century, we will craft syrups, vinegars, tinctures, teas, and more. Attendees will learn how to dry herbs and how to use them in culinary creations.
This event will be held virtually via WebEx. Those who register will receive a link upon complete registration.
This program is free and open to the public, and presented by the Passaic County Board of County Commissioners and the City of Clifton. It is funded in part by the Passaic County Cultural Heritage Council, a parent of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
